What Are Gas Springs?
Gas springs, also known as gas struts, are mechanical devices that store energy through compressed gas, typically nitrogen, within a sealed cylinder for smooth, cushioned motion. Think of a tiny shock absorber. A piston moves within this pressurized cylinder. As the door opens, the piston compresses the gas, preventing slamming. When closing, it provides gentle assistance.
